Overview

The BCA Course offers a deep dive into blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies, compliance, and financial reporting. Participants will gain the skills needed to establish effective crypto compliance policies, prevent financial crimes, and ensure that their organizations remain at the forefront of blockchain and cryptocurrency accounting practices.

1. Understand the fundamental components of blockchain technology, including distributed ledgers, consensus mechanisms, and its applications in the cryptocurrency space.
2. Develop a deep knowledge of various cryptocurrencies, their underlying technology, and how they are used in financial transactions and their impact on traditional financial systems..
3. Explore the DeFi ecosystem, including decentralized exchanges, lending platforms, and yield farming. Understand the opportunities and risks associated with DeFi protocols and the importance of DeFi in modern finance.
4. Recognize common criminal typologies, including Money Laundering (ML), Ransomware Financing, Terrorist Financing, as well as common security threats and fraud schemes, and learn strategies to combat them effectively
5.Explore international cryptocurrency laws and regulations and understand the legal status of cryptocurrencies in different countries.
6. Understand the classification of cryptocurrencies and apply accounting principles to record and report cryptocurrency transactions accurately.
7. Understand the applicable Cryptocurrency tax laws and accurate compute, remit and file crypto taxes accurately.
8. Get abreast with the use of AI in Accounting and Finance.

Prerequisites

No prior knowledge of blockchain or cryptocurrencies is required. Basic understanding of technology and finance concepts is beneficial but not mandatory.

Review of Introduction to Blockchain and Cryptocurrency

After this module, learners will have a solid understanding of the fundamental concepts and components of blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies, including distributed ledgers, consensus mechanisms, and their applications in financial transactions

This module will provide learners with knowledge about the decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem, including decentralized exchanges, lending platforms, yield farming, and the opportunities and risks associated with DeFi protocols. Additionally, learners will understand the concept and significance of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

Upon completing this module, learners will be well-versed in the legal status of cryptocurrencies in different countries, tax regulations related to cryptocurrencies globally, and the financial accounting standards and best practices for reporting cryptocurrency transactions.

This module will equip learners with the ability to identify red flags and indicators of financial crimes, such as money laundering, ransomware financing, and terrorist financing, in the cryptocurrency industry. They will also learn about the role of exchanges in financial crimes and best practices for accountants to combat these threats.

After this module, learners will understand the concept of cryptocurrency accounting, how to record and report blockchain financial transactions, reclassification of cryptocurrencies for accounting purposes, and the appropriate accounting entries for various classes of cryptocurrencies. Best practices for practitioners will also be covered.

Learners will gain comprehensive knowledge about cryptocurrency taxation, including tax planning, taxable and non-taxable events, deductible and non-deductible expenses, reclassification of cryptocurrencies for tax purposes, applicable taxes, and computation of cryptocurrency taxation. The trainings are designed for investigators and compliance officers using different cryptocurrecncy blockchain and cryptocurrency investigation tools, hence participants are expected to be inquisitive have investigating mindset, and understand basics of blockchain technology.

The cost of the on-site training event is $200 per person, which includes six days of on-site, in-person training, personal training materials, catered lunches, an exam administration, and a hands-on practical session for participants.

Taking all 5 modules and passing the final exam earns you the credential of Certified Cryptocurrency Investigator from Blockchain Intelligence Group. As a CCI graduate, you will realize the full potential of available data analytics engine to power tracking and tracing of nefarious activities. 

For the exams, most of the questions are multiple choice. There are also some true/false questions and a few questions that ask you to match things to other things.

Both. There are multiple lessons in each module, and at the end of each lesson there is a short quiz. Then, at the end of each module there is a test. Finally, at the end of all the modules there is a final test, which is the test you need to pass to earn the credential of Certified Cryptocurrency Investigator.

Since our training focuses on a hands-on approach, the lab has a limited capacity and often fill up more than 1 month in advance. Hence, when you decide on the cohort to partake in, we advise that you plan ahead to sign up so as to ensure your spot.

You will be contacted via email confirming your course registration. In addition, we will also be in touch 1 week before the scheduled date of your selected course and a final email will be sent 48 hours before the start of the course to remind you of the plans.

To earn the credential of Certified Cryptocurrency Investigator(CCI), you must get at least 80% on the final test at the end of the final module.
